BT Lawyers & Consultants provides a team of professionals in immigration, law, translation, education, business, accounting, finance, insurance, investment, real estate, tourism and more. 

The law firm is led by Thomas Zhang, an Australian practising lawyer and a former senior registered migration agent.

Mr. Zhang holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Nanjing University, a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of Melbourne, a Master of Business (Accounting) (MBPA) from Victoria University, a Juris Doctor (JD) from La Trobe University, an Advanced Diploma of Translation and Interpreting (ADTI) from RMIT University, and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice (GDPT) from the College of Law. Mr. Zhang holds lawy qualifications in both China and Australia, a NAATI certified translator (English-Chinese two-way) and is a certified interpreter (Mandarin-English).

Mr. Zhang has been working as a lawyer since February 1997. He has successively engaged in civil, commercial and criminal legal services in well-known foreign-related law firms in China. He is skilled at handling difficult legal affairs, and has achieved both positive results and customer feedback, and is always seeking to add to his wealth of experience. Mr. Zhang has a proficient level of English language, and is a native speaker of a number of dialects of Chinese language.

As the director/principal lawyer of the law firm, Mr. Zhang has accumulated more than 25 years of experience in Chinese legal practice and 18 years of experience in Australian immigration law and visa practice. With a combination of  practical experience, Anglo-American common law knowledge and skills, the law firm can provide our clients with efficient and professional immigration legal services, as well as legal fields closely related to the daily life of people including but not limited to: Family law and divorce, business and company law, conveyancing, Wills, probate, testamentary trust and Power of Attorney, family trust, civil dispute resolution, property law, traffic offence, intervention (injunction) order, summary criminal and other legal practice areas). The firm is also qualified to practice Chinese law consulting services.
